**THIS EVENT WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR LATER IN 2020**

Saul Steinberg’s “Mural of Cincinnati” once graced the walls of the famous Skyline restaurant in the Terrace Plaza hotel. An icon of modernism, the downtown hotel boasted other important artists as well: a mural by Joan Miro and a mobile by Alexander Calder.

Known for his witty drawings in The New Yorker, Steinberg was expanding his reputation as an artist through exhibitions in art galleries and museums. With these successes, Cincinnati businessman John Emery, Jr. commissioned a work for the hotel. The resulting mural created a whimsical backdrop to a chic setting in the restaurant; it includes both city landmarks and imaginary architecture and urban life.

Join us as we spend time with docent Sarah Shay to examine and explore about this delightful work at the Cincinnati Art Museum. After the talk, feel free to visit your favorite pieces in the museum on your own.

Attendance is limited to 20 members, and RSVPs are required. If you RSVP and are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation in the event there is a wait list.
