The Architecture and Urban Planning Collection PDF Print E-mail

The Architecture and Urban Planning Collection, produced by the Design, Architecture, Art and Planning Library, contains over 2,500 images from China, Africa, Europe, and the United States, especially in Cincinnati. The images in the collection were provided by University of Cincinnati students, faculty, and staff, professional and amateur photographers, and the Cincinnati Preservation Association. Many of the images represent urban planning research projects of DAAP faculty and students. The images in the Architecture and Urban Planning Collection are available to the general public. Visitors to the collection can view thumbnails and large versions of the images, as well as rotate, zoom in and out, magnify particular areas, and print the images. The Architecture and Urban Planning Collection is growing continually. For information on contributing images, please consult with Elizabeth Meyer, Visual Resources Librarian, at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

The collection is accessed using Luna Insight software either through the web or through software that is downloaded onto your computer. Here is the web link:  http://digitalprojects.libraries.uc.edu/archurban/index.asp

I created a folder of Cincinnati Modernist buildings. Currently we have 173 images. (Donations are welcome—I have a permission form for anyone who wants to donate their images.)

Here is how to access: click on the Insight Browser link when going to the site. Make sure Pop-up blockers are turned off. Then click on group>open group>Cincinnati Modernism

If you want to try the download version of the software it is called the Java Client and it has more features. I created a guide on how to install it, how to create image presentations, and download images http://www.libraries.uc.edu/libraries/daap/resources/visualresources/luna.html

Let me know if you have any questions,
