Tony Miracle, cf3 member, just published the CD. Contact him at anthonymiracle(at)hotmail.com or catch him at the next home tour. You can also find them on iTunes . On June 22, 2008 Tony was interviewed on WVXU . Dwell Magazine article, Aaron Britt: If, as Goethe said, architecture is frozen music, then what are pop songs about modern architecture? The recent work of a few indie bands seeks to answer just that question. Be they the RISD-schooled Talking Heads, the Gropius-loving Bauhaus, or Joy Division/New Order’s iconic Peter Saville album covers, designers have long left their marks on pop music. On the new album from the lounge-style Satellite City (their myspace site with samples), the modern architecture of Cincinnati takes center stage. The album, Cincinnati Modern, offers up track titles such as “The Boulter House” (a Frank Lloyd-Wright residence), “The Vontz Center for Molecular Studies” (a Frank Gehry), and “Song for Charley Harper” (a Dwell-beloved graphic artist), suggesting that “The Queen City” deserves credit for more than just William Howard Taft and the Ickey Shuffle. Equal parts smooth jazz and Space Age electro, the mellow grooves are like a hazy trip back to the Womb Chair. Aaron Britt, DWELL Magazine |

In 1955 two modern homes were built as mirror images of each other for sisters in Kenton Hills, KY. The sisters wanted to be able to wave and speak to each other from their kitichen windows. Near Devou Park, the double lot has a great view of Cincinnati. The homes were used as a promotion for a glass maker's new twin pane glass. Originally furnished completely with a major furniture designer's signature line the homes were showcased in many national publications. Over the years the homes have fallen into disrepair. Currently the lot is for sale. Photo by Susan Rissover. |
